The intention of an Eagle Scout Service Project is to “to demonstrate leadership of others while performing a project for the benefit of his community.” My project was for University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio and consisted of building two mobile, modular miniature golf holes. There were 3 sections per hole, all interchangeable for different designs and configurations. For storage and transportation they were able to be fully disassembled and strapped to a standard dolly. The materials were approved by hospital personnel and met the requirements of being fire retardant, easily sanitized, and hypoallergenic. This project was chosen because at the time there was a lack of entertainment for children in the 8-13 age range.
